Ingredients of Granola Bars

  1. It's 1 tsp of vanilla essence.
  2. You need 1/4 tsp of salt.
  3. You need 1/4 cup of honey.
  4. It's 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
  5. Prepare 1/4 cup of butter.
  6. It's 2 of & 1/4 cup rolled oats.
  7. You need 3/4 cup of almonds(roughly chopped).

Chop up your ingredients, if large. These bars hold together best when the ingredients are quite small. This refrigerated granola bar is essentially overnight oats in bar form. In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the peanut butter (or almond butter) and honey.

  1. Lightly toast oats and almonds in oven for +-10mins, making sure to shake tray in between. Once toasted, transfer to a mixing bowl. *Line a baking tray with foil and grease well. *In a saucepan add butter, sugar and honey and melt on medium heat until sugar is dissolved..
  2. Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt. *Add mixture to mixing bowl with oats and mix till well coated. (make sure none of the oats r dry) *Now add any extra ingredients that you like(diff nuts, raisins, coconut, dried fruit, etc). I added in some toasted rice crispies and choc chips. PS: if adding in choc, allow mixture to cool a lil so the chocolate does not melt(+-5/10mins) OR- i freeze my choc chips.. So i added in after mixing a few times..
  3. Please make sure not to add too many extra ingredients or the granola will become to dry and not hold shape.. *Pat mixture(pat tightly or it will crumble) onto your lined tray and allow to cool. *Once cool, you can melt some milk chocolate over(dark choc for a healthier option) OR you could leave them plain. *Slice and store in an airtight container..
